Phoenix Malichiah Davis

12-28-21 @ 7:22am My son was born a healthy 7 pounds 5 ounces and 20 inches long!

Words can’t express how much Joy I have in my heart for this little boy. They say kids change you for the better and I can attest this to be factual. Me and Ash have collectively cried in this first two weeks more than he has. He’s so perfect and a quiet baby, only getting fussy when he’s hungry or has a pamper full lol.

Seeing Ash become more of a super woman than ever before; creating life, caring for Phoenix, Breastfeeding and pumping at the same time. Still caring whether or not if I ate, making bottles, taking care of herself and her recovery. I feel obligated to give her whatever she wants for giving me the greatest gift i’ve ever had in this world, in giving life to this little boy.

My mini Me, He’s got my eyes for sure and my light bright complexion, big hands and feet so you know he’ll be tall like me. His hair is silky smooth like his mama and chubby little cheeks like his mama as well. She thinks he has my lips but I see her face in him just as much as I see my own when I was his age. Full of personality already, smiling at his parents and side eyeing us when he’s sleepy. I know were in for a little character if he’s anything like his parents.

Before holding Phoenix for the first time, I had never held a baby before, never knew how to, or even wanted to in fear of hurting them. But that first time having Phoenix in my arms felt so natural. To be honest all of these fatherhood abilities feel natural, changing pampers, swaddling… I’ve pretty much gotten the hang of most of my fatherly duties and its an amazing feeling. I never want to leave him, I never want to burden Ash with all the work, and try my best to take him when she needs some time to rest, regroup and heal herself. I love my little family and all the support we’ve gotten from the day we found out Ash was pregnant.

Life as I know it has changed for the better and I couldn’t be more proud! excited! and full of Emotions!
