Poor Man Rich Soul

The past two weekends I’ve had the opportunity to Film and Photograph the Play “Poor Man Rich Soul” by my Bro Jimmy Jenkins at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts! Thanks to my cousin Zel, Jimmy’s Bestfriend and former roommate who asked if I could come out and get some shots of the VIP experience, the play, and behind the scenes. Ive been to a few of Jimmy’s early plays before to support him and Zel but this one felt special, and I must say it did not disappoint. Jimmy’s pen is mighty, he creates these stories that not only you relate to but you find yourself in the characters shoes; it’s surreal. Kenneth Wayne, the lead in this play, and most of Jimmy’s work does a phenomenal job as Richard Sweetfeet Soul, a Boxer who goes from Champion of the World to Death Row at Grovel Penitentiary for a crime he did not commit. Without giving you the entire play just know that there are some life lessons riddled through the dialogue as you watch a cast give their hearts, and soul to the audience. From the acting, to the scenes and props, to the music, this Play is without a doubt a blockbuster movie waiting to happen, and knowing Jimmy it will be soon. The World needs to see this just as the world needed to see “Basketball County: In the Water”, and “Sinners Wanted”. I feel a wave of gratitude even being apart of this crazy resume Jimmy has built, and even more proud that he’s continued to grow and push our community and culture forward providing a place for growing artists and actors to flourish, and most importantly being humble about it. Cant wait to see whats next and how i can help…

Oh yeah, I forgot I printed all the “Do the Work tees” for the cast and crew as well.

Shoutout to Zel and Aja and the “Do The Work” crew!
