The Inspiration behind the design is a familiar one, taking cues from 2009 Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse Graffiti collection. Back when Marc Jacobs was at the Helm of LV, KanyeUniversity Blog was my go to for everything cool and once I saw this collection I knew one day I’d either have it or make my own. The latter came first lol. The way this collection changed my viewpoint of luxury brands and how they can be injected into streetwear seamlessly was the start of my infatuation with luxury brands. The Headband alone just was so different to me like, “what?! these brands makin Shit for niggas?!” And I say for us cause we the only ones rockin a headband in the club or to be stylish, you don’t see a white guy walking around with a $200 headband on for style. In fact you never see any other culture but black culture covered from head to toe in luxury to hit the grocery store or wherever.

Our culture shifted around 2010, from local brands and Baggy jeans to high end luxury and this was one of the reasons why, Marc Jacobs at LV, Kanye, The late Stephen Sprouse, and kids like me that made that connection between high fashion and streets early. Seeing your favorite artists in clothes you wish you had is the beginning of the design process for me. Then recreating it in a GoonMilk Manner is the fun part.
