Getting Out Of Negative Situations
There’s nothing in this world like attending an HBCU, specifically The Illustrious Morgan State University! A true National Treasure! Even though I did not graduate I did spend almost 8 years enrolled at MSU, from changing my major from Electrical Engineering, to Business Admin, to finally Family and Consumer Sciences with a Fashion Merchandising concentration. Then ultimately failing out of my senior semester due to commuting and an entire Junior year lost to my ruptured appendix and two months in the hospital back in 09. Its funny enough that homecoming is my most memorable because I spent that Homecoming in recovery. Homecoming time is always somewhat bitter sweet as this year marks 16 years since my near death experience almost getting called home foreal. Had to learn how to piss, poop, and walk again, spent two months in ICU, had crazy roommates lol. From being misdiagnosed at Good Samaritan Hospital and sent home thinking it was just a stomach bug, to literally almost dying on my mothers couch. Rushing to Baltimore Washington Hospital for emergency surgery. Everybody visiting mr except my girl at the time that went to my homecoming instead lol. This was literally the moment in my life that I knew I had to start building my own legacy and brand with Getting Out Of Negative Situations and GoonMilk. Im super thankful to go through all of it and how closer it brought me to my purpose in life.
Nonetheless this year’s Homecoming was definitely one for the books! As an official OG I got up to campus early and finessed my own little tailgate booth experience with my bro. We’re at that age when you hear “This campus dont look nothing like when I was here” every five minutes. Saw a lot, but far from enough of my Morgan State Family, ate Sunnys wings and western fries, drank a poof and fellowshipped with Alumni just like the old days. It was a Perfect way to kick off Homecoming SZN with Thee Booth Experience! Shoutout Imani, Tina, Lauren, Jontice, Mo, and everybody else for buying out the booth. Shoutout my bro Tim for riding up Bmore with me and making sure everything went as planned. Shoutout my lil bro Jordan for coming out and showcasing his brand Vulgar as well. Next stop Howard Yard Fest!
