WallStar Weekend

If you follow the NBA you know All Star weekend in Charlotte NC was this passed weekend. Also if you live in the DMV you know that the Wizards star John Wall is injured and going through a tough time not only dealing with his injuries but it has just been brought to light that his mom is battling Cancer. Hearing this news I not only wanted to extend my support in a trying time to not only an NBA Allstar caliber player but a stand up guy in the DMV community.

It was first made into a mockery by Stephen A. Smith that Wall spent too much time in DC nightclubs like Rosebar and partied too much. Wall being a young star on and off the court rebuttal’d with the greatest response ever with “Don’t you go to work and get off and want to socialize and relax, why can’t I?”. Something I would say if I was in the same position. That inspired the thought of saying lets create a john wall x rosebar jersey, not the fact that i thought he was in the club too much but celebrating having a all star damn near in arms length of you in the club when most people never get to meet or be in a room with a celebrity of Wall’s caliber.

The timing of the creation of the jersey seemed perfect because of All Star weekend. And what better time to drop the jersey than All Star weekend in Wall’s home state of North Carolina. Not realizing how much of a toll this whole Rosebar incident on ESPN months ago may have took on John and fighting the thoughts of letting someone create one before me that was better than mine I hastily dropped the jerseys without checking to make sure John was cool with it and thats my fault but I do want to propose a way to make all parties benefit. Knowing everything that John has going on at the moment with family and his mom battling cancer I can relate to the feeling of the fear of losing your mom, its scary. My mom is a two time cancer survivor (breast, ovarian) and one of the strongest people I know. Losing her would be detrimental not only to me but all those that she has touched in her many years. That being said I would like to take the proceeds of each jersey sale and donate to a charitable cancer non profit organization. Lets help uplift our DC All Star in his time of need. So I need your help reaching out to media outlets and Charity organizations to get this out and Support a great person and a great cause in fighting cancer.
