September 1st came faster than I thought. August was a busy month and a blur. From moving into the new house, to my 30th Birthday, to the Back To School Drive, I’ve had zero time to sit down and connect with you, my Blog readers. Lets catch up...

Business is... Business, still an underground king riding dirty. No consigns, no investors, no celebrity clout. Just direct-to-consumer sales from the site and a pop up every now and again. Slow grinding til I can finesse more overhead capital to fund more projects and ideas. I’m styling more shoots and connecting with more and more people that love my style. Only thing i hate is how everyone is dictating what’s what by the likes and followers people have. Shit isn’t even high quality but if you have the following you can regurgitate that bullshit and get rich off it while real artists starve. Clout worse than crack in 2018.

Mentally, I’ve never felt more in tune creatively and with the things I want for myself. I’m literally manifesting my dreams with positive affirmations and abiding by the law of attraction and the spiritual laws of circulation. You give positive vibrations and those vibrations return to you. Do good the more good comes to you. Also I’ve adversly gotten rid of all negative vibrations; things, or people that give me a feeling of uncertainty. I find that choosing and affirming the good in your life is much healthier for your mental than enduring things that you do not know are good or bad for you... consciously choose good feelings all the time. life’s to short for “on the fence” feelings. Well for me atleast.

Socially, I’ve accepted my role in certain relationships/friendships as a Support role. We all want to be that lead role but I’ve learned to not force anything with anyone. And one of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn in life is that some people do not value you or your time the same as you do theirs. Sometimes the goalposts move as people grow. Sometimes you’re in a persons life to prepare them for their next lesson or to repeat the last. That’s with friends, lovers, and even family. So instead of me feeling at a lost in learning this lesson the hard way. I changed my perspective and see things as knowledge gained instead. Learning what I want and don’t want for myself and my future. Seeing what signs should have been red flags before, that I no longer overlook. Being more accountable for my shortcomings, communicating better, being mindful of my actions and the reactions they cause. I’m growing and failing forward.

I’m proud of my gotdamn self and other than selling my Old School for drastically lower than what it was worth, Life is Good.

Ain’t no complaints.

When designing I like to repurpose garments and bring life to something people would usually disregard. You’d be surprised how many pairs of vintage US Army Issue fatigues i come across thrifting. Seeing those and being the rebel I am, I figured why not customize a few pair. The Juxtaposition of using Camoflauge and Applying large logos to stand out is a trick I picked up failing out of art classes in college. Crazy right, because I love art but being in Baltimore by 8am coming from Upper Marlboro daily was a task so I took attendance L’s every semester 🤷🏽‍♂️. Anyway; taking something like camofluage, normally used to hide, and printing undeniably huge logos over it to pop out at first glance. The urge to stare is almost undeniable.  The Camo blends but the logos jump at you!

I guess I did learn a thing or two at Morgan...

I digress, go cop these right now in the GoonMilk SHOP!

As you all should know, this week is NYFW, and unfortunately I am in bed with no way up at the moment. But that does not mean I am missing out. The best invention this generation has revolutionized today is the camera. Phone cameras and live feeds, are literally making the world as small as your smart phone of choice. So as I lay here in my laziness I am actually in class with Virgil Abloh at the Nike Ten Off Campus event via youtube and simultaneously front row watching the Tom Ford and Vfiles S/S '18 shows via Instagram Live. Now I would much rather be in New York getting looks off but this is the broke students crutch. Watching everything I can from true events this week gaining much needed inspiration, insight, and just raw knowledge of the fashion industry. I'm really into the Off Campus events with Nike and Virgil's "the Ten". Watching these discussions has been like watching the OG's discuss their old war stories, dropping gems that kids rarely hear. From failures to upcoming ideas, to why Jordan chose Spike Lee back in 85... Virgil has put together a code breaking culmination of fashion invention alongside the most known brand in the world (Nike) and I am here for it. Check out some of the discussions here and continue to follow via Nike on YouTube.

I saw this doc about a year or two ago and instantly got to rethinking how serious I take social media. Using social media to my advantage, as well as learning how to put my phone down and actually do something. So many hours out of my day get wasted scrolling Instagram, twitter, snapchat, Facebook, and Tumblr. But is it really a waste if I'm taking all that i see in as data to learn from? What hashtags to use when selling, what topic is on fire on twitter, what brands are dropping new shit. Social Media has become a job, and Im torn between wanting my brand seen by every living person on this planet, and being the shy guy I am in real life. Even more so, how do I balance time on social media and real life tasks because everything must be documented right? But I digress, checkout the documentary and let me know how you guys feel about it in the comments section.
